Man Grows Ear on his Arm; Plans to Link it to WiFi for People to Listen to Him
He came up with the idea for the ear back in 1996 and was able to convince a team of boffins to go ahead with it using his own tissue samples. He now announced his plans to use his own stem cells to make the ear more three dimensional so that the microchip can be put in without the possibility of infection, and then linked up to wireless internet.
"This ear is not for me, I've got two good ears to hear with. This ear is a remote listening device for people in other places. They'll be able to follow a conversation or hear the sounds of a concert, wherever I am, wherever you are. If I'm not in a wi-fi hotspot or I switch off my home modem, then perhaps I'll be offline, but the idea actually is to try to keep the ear online all the time. Increasingly now, people are becoming internet portals of experience... imagine if I could hear with the ears of someone in New York, imagine if I at the same time could see with the eyes of someone in London." - Stelios ArcadiouWATCH THE VIDEO HERE:
