Christmas or the Yuletide season is such a very fun season every year since every child or even those who were young at heart anticipate this time of the year wherein there's a lot of giving, celebration and love. Just like any other occasion, Christmas has a long and wide range of traditions to support its wonderful background. Almost all of it were fun and festive but there's also something creepy that has something to do with Christmas. We all know Santa Claus  that's based on the European Saint Nicholas who is famous for his kind and gift-giving man who rewards young kids for being nice the whole year around. But you need to know that he has a company he keeps that raises questions, suspicions, debates and eyebrows literally. In Alpine Countries such as Austria, Hungary, Bavaria and more, Santa Claus has a assistant that isn't a cute little elf that we have grown to know throughout time. Santa's real assistant is said to be a DEMON. Yes, it's an enslaved demon that is popularly known as KRAMPUS. Krampus is not only a demon, He is also known to be as a Incubus or a sexual predator that preys on sleeping humans.
Krampus is a beast-like creature from the folklore of Alpine countries thought to punish children during the Christmas season who had misbehaved, in contrast with Saint Nicholas, who rewards well-behaved ones with gifts. Krampus is said to capture particularly naughty children and drag them off into the black forest. Krampus is represented as a beast-like creature, generally demonic in appearance. The creature has roots in Germanic folklore. - wikipedia

Krampus was said to be the demon of Christmas who gives out warnings and punishments to every child who has been naughty and bad during the whole year. Not only kids get to see and be haunted with him, Krampus also attacks adults who is also bad throughout the year. If that doesn't scare you enough, Krampus doesn't go alone, sometimes he brings a gang of demons on his bag ready to meet the bad kids and bring them to the dark forest. Krampus is heavily armed with chains, bags, basket, bundles of switches sometimes whips. Tamer versions of Krampus only punishes kids by getting their presents or lets the bad kids parade the town with tons of switches on their body.

Krampus rose to fame for his wicked ways to the point that he even have his own day.  Krampus Night or Krampusnacht was the name of his feast celebrated every 5th of December wherein the hairy devil appears on the streets. Krampus were also featured on greeting cards, these cards have the creepy message “Greetings from Krampus!” it is like you have received a  complimentary greetings from Satan himself. And it also leaves us a question that Santa Claus and Krampus is totally different from each other but why do they hang out together during Christmas time?

So the saying, Have you been Naughty or Nice during the whole year was given a brand new meaning by Krampus. Same with Christmas who got some creepy and disturbing side, right?
